A few days ago, we published a video that has drawn the attention of investigators regarding a suspected case of irregular entries into the high-security prison in Peqin. In the released footage, a blonde woman identified by the initials A.M. can be seen, who is suspected of having entered the internal premises of the prison in April 2025, during a politically sensitive period ahead of the parliamentary elections on May 11, 2025. The case has been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office in Elbasan and is currently under investigation after entry-exit logs, security camera footage, and accompanying visit documentation were seized.
According to sources from the prison system and the investigative team, authorities are also verifying the person who recorded and distributed the video inside the institution, a female employee working as a social educator, against whom disciplinary proceedings have been initiated. Investigators are further analyzing A.M.’s movements inside the high-security facility, where she is seen accompanied by a police officer, while it is suspected that she may have accessed restricted areas of the institution.
As part of the investigation, authorities are also examining claims of possible meetings with inmates identified by the initials L.D. and R.Rr., who are held under a special security regime in the Peqin prison. The case has become part of a broader investigation involving several penitentiary institutions across the country, where around 17 cases of irregular or suspiciously documented entries are suspected, including both the pre-election and post-election period of May 11, 2025.
According to journalist Elton Qyno, some of these entries are believed to have been facilitated through documentation declaring cohabitation, legal representative authorizations, or claimed professional roles such as psychologist or sociologist. Investigations are ongoing to determine the specific responsibilities of prison administration officials and to clarify how such entries were allowed in high-security areas.
