Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued his public attacks this Tuesday against Dritan Goxhaj, describing him as a deserter of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).
In a statement published on social media, Rama shared a document which, according to him, belongs to the UÇK and claims that Goxhaj refused to join the war in Kosovo, unlike his father, Dylaver Goxhaj, who at the time was involved as a volunteer in the General Staff of the UÇK.
Meanwhile, on another political front, for 23 consecutive days, thousands of citizens gathered in protests held in public squares have made strong accusations against Prime Minister Rama, labeling him a traitor to national interests and calling for his removal from politics.
Yesterday marked the 23rd mass protest, where participants demanded a change of the political establishment and the resignation of the government.
In his post, Rama also published a comment from an individual who expressed anger toward Goxhaj’s supporters, writing: “Don’t do this, don’t cry over him, what a bullshit commander…” He further added that he would never accept tarnishing the flag of the UÇK and stated that those who, according to him, are joking about alleged claims of an Iranian aggressive intervention in the protests will be ashamed when the truth becomes public.
The letter published by Rama claims that on April 14, 1999, at the UÇK training center in Helshan, four volunteers from the Albanian Army arrived: Arqile Mandro, Ermir Begaj, Driton Dyrmishaj, and Agim Sallaku, who were reportedly transported there by Dritan Goxhaj according to the document.
